Before you quest, somethings to know

First thing, as of right now you have two Presences, Blood and Frost, pictured here: . If you want to tank, make sure you use Frost when in instances. I like using Blood because it heals you overtime. Frost raises your HP and threat, which is why it's good for tanks.

Since you should now be level 58, you can go to Outlands, but you might want to hold out on that for a while.

One thing you can do is learn Professions: Herbalism, Inscription, Jewelcrafting, Mining, Skinning, Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Leatherworking, and Tailoring. You can only learn two, so pick carefully (or see below). Mining, Skinning, and Herbalism are called gathering professions while the others are production professions. Gathering professions make you money, which is why you might want to start with two of those and then ditch one later. The Secondary Professions are: Cooking, First Aid (which you already know), and Fishing. You can learn all three. In the next expansion, Cataclysm, they will add Archaeology.

Personally, I think all DKs should learn Mining. It gives you a passive buff called Toughness which adds to your Stamina the higher you level it. Stamina is important, in my opinion. :D Anyway, you should look up the Racial Traits of each race (maybe even before you make a DK...I should have put this sooner, oops /o\).

Dwarf: None

Gnome: Engineering Specialist : 15 point skill bonus to Engineering (note, this also raises the cap by 15 at each level of Engineering). So a Gnome DK could be a Miner and an Engineer.

Human: None

Night elf: None

Draenei: Gemcutting : 5 point skill bonus to Jewelcrafting (note, this also raises the cap by 5 at each level of jewelcrafting). A Draenei DK could be a Miner and Jewelcrafter.

Orc: None

Tauren: Cultivation : 15 point skill bonus to Herbalism (note, this also raises the cap by 15 at each level of herbalism). A Tauren DK could be a Miner and an Herbalist.

Troll: None

Forsaken: None

Blood elf: Arcane Affinity : 10 point skill bonus to Enchanting (note, this also raises the cap by 10 at each level of enchanting). A Blood Elf DK could be a Miner and an Enchanter.

Basically, I'm telling you to be a miner and then whatever else you want. My main DK is a miner and a tailor. So, learn professions and run around Azeroth leveling them up as far as they can go before you hit the Outlands or else you'll have to do it later and look longingly at all the cool stuff you could have.

The end of your journey

Ok, so LK wants you to go to Mograine and help kick major ass. First, go through this tunnel: and follow it to a Scourge town, which leads to where you need to go. Talk to the guy on the skeleton gryphon and then Mograine. Then you either start or wait 5 minutes for the event to start. Then the best event you have ever seen at that point (unless you are an 80 getting a DK, in which case this event is pretty damn awesome) happens.

I won't tell you what happens, but you can't die and try to stay near Mograine because when the event ends you have to hop through your portal quickly or the event reset and you die. :(

Anyway, the portal take you to Ebon Hold where you have to kill 10 Scourge and Patchwerk. Now, it depends on when you do this and how many other players are running around. If you are by yourself, pull EVERYTHING to the guard of friendly DKs. They will help you kill it all. Patchwerk is harder because he is in the middle. Clear everything in front of the guards and get close enough to Patchwerk that either Death Coil or Icy Touch can be used. Then run to the guards and kill him. It'll be a long fight, but not too bad. If it's busy with a lot of players ask if people want to try and kill him and go at him. No need to party/group up.

After that, go back to Mograine and he'll direct you to two portals, one for Orgrimmar (Horde) and one for Stormwind (Alliance). Once there, hop onto your mount and run through the city. All the NPCs are unfriendly and will chase/scream/throw things/spit at you. Don't worry about them, just get to Thrall and/or Varian and turn in the quest. You become Honored (I think) with Stormwind/Orgrimmar and are ready to go questing!

You are friends with everyone

Your next quest requires you to run over to the chapel and kill the Argent Crusader that is of your race. Turn that in get another one that makes you run back to Thassarian (they like to make you run around, noob :D). The next quests turn you into a Scarlet person. That means you are friendly (green) with the Scarlets AND the Death Knights. It's awesome! \o/

After that (and some more running around), you run back to LK and get to utterly demolish the Scarlet people. This is where it got a little hard for me. LK gives you a horn that summons a dragon (\o/). Now, if you've only leveled up a character to 55 only to get a DK to 80, then you don't know how to fly. Or at least I didn't. The spacebar makes you go up, just so you know. :D

The quest is to destroy 10 big arrow things and 100 people. 100 people is no problem, it's the 10 that are dangerous.

Tips: 1. Take off your gear. You will die/fall off and you want to save your repair bill.
2. Try to hide your dragon around here: . Sometimes the arrows don't see you. You will only be hitting three at a time, but dying less.
3. When you get hit, fly away towards where your friends are fighting. Not only can you eat Scarlets to regain your dragon's health/mana, you can kill all the Scarlets there without hurting your friends.
4. The picture isn't very good (/o\), but this spot: might be a good place too get both 10 and 100. You have to get awfully close those for it count for the 10.

After that debacle is over (I hate that quest so much, omg), the LK tells you to go to Hotass Mograine and kick more ass. Which will be the next post!

Down with Scarlet!

Ok, so. You have just destroyed some Scarlet Crusaders! \o/ GO YOU! It's cool to kill them because they scream in fear and they want to kill you first! :( They are mean.

Anyway, LK tells you to get your ass back down there and kill some more. First pick up the quest from Noth (you can't miss him) then go here and pick up some more quests.

this has nothing to do with anything, but that horse is wanted by so many people! :D

*cough* Back to killing! :D

is in the inn basement (it sparkles, so you can't miss it).

is in the forge (it also sparkles).

Don't forget to kill Scarlet people as much as you can. Turn in the quests and get another one that takes you here: . Kill the people inside and your done! Pull carefully around here or else you might end up dying. :/

After you turn that quest in, you have to go to the orchards and look for a house surrounded by Scarlet people. Go in and go upstairs. If you pull some Scarlet's run inside and the NPC DK's will help you kick ass. Upstairs talk to Oraz and . They give you quests that led you to the fortress type thing.

In the fortress, go upstairs first and kill the guy in there, grab the sparkly on the table and go back downstairs. Directly under the stairs is the basement. That is where the belf DK you are looking for is. (I'll add pictures later, I forgot to SS them /o\). Do his quest, which is harder than you think. Make sure you stay in the bubble, Death Coil people and Icy Touch them to bring them closer. When the main guy comes out, he will knock you out, but you can run back into it. Make sure you stand right next to the belf DK so we you get knocked out you get knocked into boxes. He's easy to kill, just use everything you have. After the kill, run back out and let people attack you. The belf DK will get aggro. Turn in the quest and grab the next one.

One big quest chain, really

So, now you are down on the ground! That means you get to kill Scarlet people! \o/ First though, you're going to need a horse. :D Anyway, pop outside and pick up all the quests. I'd get the horse first, since you can move around faster. Then go back and finish getting arrows and killing people. And fighting other DKs.

Now, there's a quest where you have to bring five ghoul things to a dude. Take the back way since it's closer.

This is the mine you want:

Just throw the thing he gave you and either fight things or get all five. You could run back and forth every time you get one, but it's way easier to collect all five and then go back to the guy.

Next, go back to the mine area and look for this:

Hop (right click) in it and voila! You are taken to the ships where you get to kill 100 people! :D Otherwise you might try to kill all 100 level elites the hard way. You don't want that. Don't forget to click on the thing that calls a ride or else you might die. D: What I mean is, RUN AWAAAAAAY after you kill the amount for the quest. After you turn the quest in to LK, you can kill more Scarlet people! \o/

These things sparkle, go to one and click it. IMPORTANT: spacebar=up. Took me a couple times to figure that out later on. :/ Also, x=down (on my keyboard anyway). Or you can use the mouse.

After that, you finally get to go outside the damn hold.

So, you got a level 55 character and now you made a DK. \o/ Go you! After you listen to that awesome intro, the first person you meet is The Lich King (LK) himself! :O Before we get to that, let's meet one of my DKs. Spencersmith on Bronzebeard US.

After you can move, run up to LK and get your first DK quest:

LK must be lonely because he keeps talking to you after you take the quest. Later he whispers sweet nothings as you kill people.
